Council Member Jeff AllenOn February 8, 2023, Council Member Jeff Allen attended the Grand Terrace Chamber
of Commerce meeting.
• Eric and Pricilla Santillan, Grocery Outlet provided a presentation on the status of
their business, growth, and success.
On February 8, 2023, Council Member Allen attended the Colton Joint Unified School
District Community Cabinet meeting. A presentation was provided by Dr. Frank Miranda,
Superintendent on:
• The District’s Design Plan has three (3) Priorities:
o Equity
o Professional Learning
o Professionalism
These are strategies and action steps that are going to guide them in improving in the
areas stated above.
Dr. Michael Sequeira, Department of Public Health gave a presentation on:
• Childhood Obesity
• Opioids and the fentanyl crisis, along with statistics on overdose deaths in the
county.
Robert Harris, Wellness Center Counselor gave a presentation on the newly created
wellness centers located in the various high schools in the Colton Joint Unified School
Districts, with one located at Grand Terrace High School. Its mission is to provide a safe,
welcoming, and open space for students, parents, and faculty to receive the support they
need.
