1998-07 RESOLUTION NO. 98-07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, ACKNOWL-
EDGING THAT UPON THE FORMATION OF THE EAST
VALLEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, THE CITY
COUNCIL WILL NOT OPPOSE THE FUTURE
ANNEXATION BY THE CITIES OF SAN BERNARDINO
AND REDLANDS OF AREAS CURRENTLY WITHIN
THEIR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
WHEREAS, the Cities of Grand Terrace, Highland and Yucaipa have petitioned LAFCO to
create the East Valley Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, residents of some unincorporated areas currently within CSA 38 have
requested consideration by LAFCO to be included in the proposed East Valley Fire Protection
District; and
WHEREAS, some of these unincorporated areas are within the spheres of influence for the
cities of San Bernardino and Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the Cities of Grand Terrace, Highland and Yucaipa do not intend nor desire the
C- formation of the East Valley Fire Protection District to interfere with the future annexation of
these unincorporated areas by the Cities of San Bernardino and Redlands.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE , CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the city of Grand Terrace hereby resolves that upon the
formation of the East Valley Fire Protection District, the City of Grand Terrace, City Council
will not oppose the future annexation by the cities of San Bernardino and Redlands of areas
currently within their sphere of influence.
Section 2. The City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to certify as to the adoption of
this Resolution.
