RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE
AUTHORIZING NOMINATION
OF PROJECTS FOR FUNDING FROM THE 2001-2002
BICYCLE TRANSPORATION ACCOUNT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the state of California, Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA) program provides for the
disbursement of funds from the State Transportation Funds for use by eligible claimants for the
purpose of bicycle projects, and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has requested the submission of
applications from eligible cities and counties for the 2001/2002 fiscal years, and
WHEREAS, Caltrans expects to fund $7.2 million worth of projects under this program, for this
year, and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace Bicycle Transportation Plan has been prepared according
to Section 892.1 of the CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAY CODE; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace Bicycle Transportation Plan has been approved by the City
Council of the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace in 1999, and

WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace has received a letter of conformity for the City's General
Plan Bikeway Plan from the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG);
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace possesses the legal authority to
nominate, finance, acquire, and construct projects that are eligible for funding under the BTA
program,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace,
CA, that:
1. City staff is authorized to nominate to Caltrans for funding under the BTA program:
Mount Vernon Avenue bikelane, northbound from Main Street to Pico Street
Main Street bikelane, westbound from Mount Vernon Avenue to western city limits
Gage Canal bike path from northerly city limits to southerly city limits
2. City staff is authorized to provide requisite local match, co-funding; the amount of which will
be approved at a later date.
3. Patrizia Materassi, as the City of Grand Terrace Community and Economic Development
Director, is authorized, as the official representative of the City of Grand Terrace to act in
connection with the nomination and to provide such additional information as may be
required.
