2002-20 RESOLUTION NO. 2002- zo A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COLTON JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL BOARD TO CONFIRM THEIR COMMITMENT TO A HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE GRAND TERRACE AREA WHEREAS, a local high school is a central issue forthe parents and community of Grand Terrace; and WHEREAS, when Measure B was proposed by the Colton Joint Unified School District, it was clear that one of the major projects to be funded by the Measure would be a high school in the Grand Terrace area; and WHEREAS, Measure B was successful in large part due to the support and hard work of the citizens of Grand Terrace; and WHEREAS, there is some question as to whether the school district will follow through on its commitment to build a high school to serve the students of Grand Terrace; and WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to working with the school district to find an appropriate site; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace, does hereby support the construction of a high school to serve the students of Grand Terrace and encourage the School Board to maintain theirfocus and follow through on its commitment to the Grand Terrace community.
