RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAND TERRACE ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE
TO ASSIST THIS AREA' S STATE LEGISLATORS IN
HAVING THE STATE LEGISLATURE APPROVE LEGIS-
LATION FOR GRAND TERRACE TO RECEIVE BAIL-OUT
FUNDS IN IMPLEMENTATION OF SENATE BILL 1650
FOR 1979
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace was incorporated on
November 30, 1978 without authority to levy property taxes ;
and
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has provided bail-out
funds to California Cities then in existence in implementation
of Senate Bill 1650; and
WHEREAS, in order for Grand Terrace to receive any bail-
out funds it is necessary to have the State Legislature adopt
implementing legislation in behalf of newly incorporated cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Grand
Terrace does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows :
Section 1 . That a committee is hereby established to
assist this area' s legislators in having the State Legislature
approve legislation for Grand Terrace to receive bail-out funds
in implementation of Senate Bill 1650 for 1979 .
Section 2 . That this committee is directed to work closely
with Senator Ruben Ayala and Assemblyman Terry Goggins in having
said legislation approved.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to forward
copies of this Resolution to the committee appointees , Senator
Ruben Ayala and Assemblyman Terry Goggins.
ADOPTED this 7th day of December, 1978 .
