1979-16 RESOLUTION NO. 79-16
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, REMOVING THE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR BUILDING INSPECTION AND
THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS FROM THE
BUILDING AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT OF THE COUNTY
OF SAN BERNARDINO TO THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE
CITY MANAGER'S STAFF
WHEREAS, it is desirous that the building inspection and
issuance of building permit function be reassigned from the
Building and Safety Department of the County of San Bernardino
to the City Staff; and
WHEREAS , the issuance of building permits and the building
inspection function would be more efficiently handled by City
Staff rather than by the County of San Bernardino and would
result in substantial revenue to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Grand
Terrace does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows :
Section 1 . Effective March 15 , 1979 , the Building and
Safety Department of the County of San Bernardino shall no longer
accept any applications for the issuance of building permits.
Section 2 . All applications for building permits accepted
by the Building and Safety Department of the County of San
Bernardino prior to March 15 , 1979 , shall continue to be processed
by said Building and Safety Department and final building permit
issued thereto.
Section 3. No building permit application shall be accepted
between March 15 , 1979 , and April 1, 1979 .
Section 4 . Effective April 1, 1979 , the City Manager of the
City of Grand Terrace shall make adequate provisions for the
issuance of building permits and for the provision of building
inspection services. This authorization and direction shall
include the delegation of building permit issuance to a delegate
of the City Manager. Building inspection shall be provided through
the services of the City' s Consulting Engineer and City Staff.
