A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, CALIFORNIA PROCLAIMING 21937 GRAND TERRACE
ROAD AN OFFICIAL CITY PARK AND NAMING THE PARK "GRAND
TERRACE FITNESS PARK"
WHEREAS, the City applied for and was awarded a grant by the California
Department of Parks and Recreation of approximately $1.8 million to develop a park to
preserve open space, provide educational opportunities and provide for the health and
fitness of the community;
WHEREAS, on October 31, 2011, the City purchased 2.55 acres at 21937 Grand
Terrace Road with State grant funds to develop a community park to encourage health
and fitness,
WHEREAS, the community provided recommendations to officially name the new
park;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby proclaims the park land located at 21937
Grand Terrace Road is an official city park to be known as "Grand Terrace Fitness
Park".
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
