A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION 2017 PLAN
UPDATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace recognizes the threat that natural hazards
pose to people and property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace contracted with Dynamic Planning +
Science represented by Ethan Mobley to facilitate and prepare the City's Local Hazard
Mitigation 2017 Plan Update, including coordination with Planning and Stakeholder
Teams, City Departments, Local Officials, and residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace has prepared the City of Grand Terrace
Local Hazard Mitigation 2017 Plan Update, in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation
Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Grand Terrace Local Hazard Mitigation 2017 Plan Update
assesses risks, and identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long
term risk to people and property in the City from the impacts of future hazards and
disasters; and
WHEREAS, the Grand Terrace Local Hazard Mitigation 2017 Plan Update was
submitted to the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) and the OES
approved it on October 17, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Grand Terrace Local Hazard Mitigation 2017 Plan Update was
submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and FEMA
determined on July 12, 2108 that the Plan is eligible for final approval pending its
adoption by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of the Grand Terrace Local Hazard Mitigation 2017
Plan Update will provide the City opportunities to apply for grant programs and funding
opportunities for pre and post-disaster mitigation; and
WHEREAS, adoption by the City Council demonstrates their commitment to the
hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the "Grand Terrace Local Hazard
Mitigation 2017 Plan Update.

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.
Section 2. The City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Grand Terrace
Local Hazard Mitigation 2017 Plan Update, which is on file in the City Clerk's Office.
Section 3. The City Council hereby directs the City Manager to submit a
certified copy of this Resolution to the State Office of Emergency Services and Federal
Emergency Management Agency for final approval.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Grand
Terrace, California, at a regular meeting held on the 24t" day of July 2018.
