1979-50 RESOLUTION NO. 79-50
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, URGING:_THE CITIZENS
OF GRAND TERRACE TO FLY AMERICAN FLAGS IN RECOG-
NITION OF AMERICAN HOSTAGES IN IRAN
WHEREAS, there have been 50 Americans held in Iran for a
period in excess of thirty days; and
WHEREAS, it is the feeling of the City Council of the City
of Grand Terrace that these American individuals are being illegally
held and without just cause; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace would ,
like to join in the support of the Resolution adopted by the United'*'.`
Nations for the release of these hostages; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace would
like to show support and recognition for these brave American captives )n,�
their unfortunate circumstance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAND TERRACE that all Grand Terrace citizens be urged to fly their
American flags to pay tribute to the American hostages being held in the
Country, of Iran until such time as they are released and reunited with
their families.
ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1979.
