1980-19 RESOLUTION NO. 80-19
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE OFF-
STREET PARKING FACILITIES LOCATED GENERALLY IN
THE 22400 BL'OCK .OF BARTON ROAD AND REFERRED TO
AS THE TERRACE SHOPPING CENTER, TO BE PARKING
FACILITIES GENERALLY HELD OPEN FOR THE USE OF
THE PUBLIC FOR PURPOSES OF VEHICULAR PARKING
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21107.8 provides that
a city may, by resolution, find and declare that there are privately
owned and maintained off-street parking facilities that are generally
held open for the use of the public for purposes of vehicular parking
and thereby apply certain regulation sections of the California Vehicle
Code; and
WHEREAS, the owners of the business establishments located
generally in the 22400 block of Barton Road in the City of Grand Terrace,
referred to as the Terrace Shopping Center, have requested the City make
such findings and declarations and apply said regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT' RESOLVED:
Section 1 . Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 21-107.8, - :
the off-street parking facilities located generally in the 22400 bl-ock of-
Barton Road and referred to as the Terrace Shopping Center shall be declared
.to be parking facilities generally held open for the use of the public for
purposes of vehicular. parking..
Section 2. The owner-operator of said facilities is hereby
authorized and directed to post appropriate signs, including a sign posted
in a conspicuous place at each entrance to such privately owned parking
facility of a size not less than 17 by 22 inches with lettering not less
than one inch in height stating that such off-street parking facility is
subject to public traffic regulations and control .
Section 3. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 21107.8,
certain sections of the Vehicle Code shall '.apply to the parking facilities
hereinabove referred to as follows: Seci.on 22350 (basis speed law),
Section 22507.8 (parking in spaces designated for disabled persons),
Section 23103 (reckless driving) , Section 23109 (speed contests and ex-
hibitions of speed) , and Vehicle Code Division 16.5 (commencing at Section
38000) (off-highway vehicles).
ADOPTED this 15th day of May, 1980.
