1980-20 RESOLUTION NO. 80--20
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING AND SUPPORT-
ING THE BUILDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (BIA) AS
AGENT TO ADMINISTER AND COORDINATE A SUBDIVISION
DIRECTIONAL SIGN PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE.
WHEREAS, there exists an urgent need to "clean up," coordinate
and end the proliferation of subdivision directional signs in the City
of Grand Terrace; and
WHEREAS, the Building Industry Association (BIA) is a not-for-
profit trade organization that represents commercial., industrial and
residential builders and developers in San Bernardino County; and -
WHEREAS, the BIA has sufficient resources and willingness to
successfully administer and coordinate a uniform offsite directional
sign program at no cost whatsoever to the City of Grand Terrace:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Grand Terrace directs and supports the BIA, as agent, to
administer and coordinate such a sign program in the City of Grand
Terrace; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City Council directs the BIA
to select a sign company, as subcontractor, by means of request for
proposal or closed bidding process, to be reviewed by City Staff; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Building and
Safety and the City Council fully review and evaluate the progress of
the program one year from the effective date of this Resolution.
