1981-12 RESOLUTION NO. 81-12
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, .CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING AND SUP-
PORTING THE OBJECTIVES AND GOALS OF THE CALI-
FORNIA RESOURCE RALLY.
WHEREAS, cities have a critical leadership role to play in
helping to find solutions to California's solid waste management chal-
lenges;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Grand Terrace to endorse and support the objectives and goals of the
California Resource Ralley and urge citizens and City personnel to parti-
cipate in and support recycling; litter control-; .and 'waste reduction activi-
ties throughout the year, especially during the Rally Week of April 20-26,
1981 ; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said _City Council urges all Cali-
fornia cities to take immediate steps to consider the use of the available
funding from the State. Solid Waste Management Board under the Board's various
grant programs for initiation or reinforcement of city recycling, litter
control , waste reduction, and resource recovery activities, as-well as
encouraging their citizens to maximize the reuse and recovery waste resources,
especially paper, motor oil , aluminum, glass, and newsprint in their com-
munities.
