1981-31 RESOLUTION NO. 81-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING CONTINUA-
1ON- OF LITTER GRANTS AWARDED PURSUANT TO THE
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1980.
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace has had their litter reduced
by 75% as, the. result° of grant funds award- pursuant to- the' Solid Waste Manage-
ment Act of 1980; and
"WHEREAS, the City of Grand Terrace's Litter Program is totally
funded through the Solid Waste Management Act of 1980; and
WHEREAS, the City Council -of the .City of Grand Terrace wishes to
maintain a continuous program of reducing litter through funding pursuant
to the Solid Waste Management Act of 1980; and
WHEREAS, the Senate Finance Subcommittee No. 4, chaired by Senator
Robert Presley, has recommended full funding for the .continuation of li.tter-
grants awarded pursuant to the Solid Waste Management Act of 1980; and
WHEREAS, on the Assembly side, Ways and Means Subcommittee No. 3,
chaired by Assemblyman Douglas Bosco, has recommended' deletiori of all litter
grant funds from the Board's 1981-82 Budget; and
WHEREAS, should the Assembly Subcommittee recommendations receive
approval of both legislative houses and the Governor; the litter grant pro-
gram will expire on July 1 , 1981 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace
RESOLVES -its' support--for the continuation -of the-'Litter,-Grants program: : -
and requests the Assembly Ways and Means Subcommittee No. 3 reconsider its:
recommendation to delete all litter grant funds from the Board's 1981-82 Budget.
