1981-45 RESOLUTION NO. 81-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION
TO THE GRANTING BY THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL
BOARD OF A LICENSE TO SELL OFF-SALE LIQUOR AT
22087 BARTON' ROAD, GRAND TERRACE, CA 92324.
WHEREAS,. an application to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
for the issuance of a license for .the sale of off-sale liquor at 22087
Barton Road, Grand Terrace, California 92324; and
WHEREAS, 22087 Barton Road is located across Barton Road from
Grand Terrace Elementary School ; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of a concensus of the City Council that
the sale of alcoholic beverages in close proximity to children of tender
ages i"s detrimental to the proper growth of such children; and
WHEREAS, it is the concensus of opinion of the City Council of the
City of Grand Terrace that adequate licenses for the sale of off-sale
alcoholic- beverages currently exist within the City -limits of the. City of
Grand Terrace; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the granting of such
application. is not in- the best interests of the citizens of- the community-
of Grand Terrace;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City *of Grand Terrace
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1 . That the City Council hereby expresses its opposition
to the granting of -an off-sale liquor license by. the Alcoholic Beverage
Board to the applicant located at 22087 Barton Road, Grand Terrace, CA 92324.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward -a
copy of- this Resolution to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
ADOPTED this llth day of June, 1981 .
