1982-36 RESOLUTION NO. 82- 36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL
3011 (TORRES) REGARDING THE PRESUMPTION THAT
CANCER IS JOB-RELATED FOR FIREFIGHTERS.
WHEREAS, AB 3011 (Torres) would place into law- a "presumption" that
cancer is job-related for firefighters; and
WHEREAS, AB 3011 would require compensation to firefighters for
cancerous conditions whether or not job-related; and
WHEREAS, neither AB 3011 nor its companion Bill (AB3810 (Torres)
provides the necessary guarantee of fundings for what would become a State-.
mandated cost to local government.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE its opposition to AB 3011 (Torres) .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk furnish copies of this
Resolution to appropriate legislators urging they not support this
legislation.
