1982-41 RESOLUTION NO. 82-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A "NO
PARKING" ZONE ON BARTON ROAD PURSUANT TO SECTION
22507 OF THE STATE VEHICLE CODE.
WHEREAS, the intersection of Interstate 215 and Barton Road generates
the need for traffic channelization; and
WHEREAS, Barton Road is experiencing increased traffic volume in the
neighborhood of Michigan Avenue and Vivienda Avenue; and
WHEREAS, child safety at Grand Terrace Elementary School necessitates
allowing drivers the maximum visibility possible; and
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the State Vehicle Code permits local
agencies to restrict, by resolution, the parking or standing of vehicles on
certain streets;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The parking, stopping, or standing of vehicles is
prohibited on either side of Barton Road between Interstate 215 and Vivienda
Avenue.
Section 2. City Staff is directed to place signs providing notice of
this action and to paint the curb red along this portion of Barton Road.
ADOPTED this 23rd day of September, 1982.
