1982-47 RESOLUTION NO. 82-47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING PROPOSITION 3,
THE 1982 CAL-VET BOND ISSUE.
WHEREAS, the State of California for 60 years has provided a loan
program to enable California veterans to buy homes and farms at low rates of
interest; and
WHEREAS, on the 1982 November ballot, Proposition 3 - the 1982
Veterans Bond Act - will provide for a new $450 million bond issue to allow
the continuance of this program for the benefit of Vietnam War-era 'Veterans
and the unremarried spouses of Veterans killed in active military service; and
WHEREAS, throughout the entire history of the Cal-Vet Home Loan
Program, State taxpayers have paid not one cent- in the program's support - the
entire cost being covered by the loan payments that veterans make on their
homes and farms;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE its endorsement for passage of Proposition 3, the 1982 Cal -Vet
Bond issue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all voters in the 1982 November election
are encouraged to support and to vote in favor of Proposition 3 on the
state-wide ballot so that the Cal-Vet Home Loan Program may continue, both as
a benefit to our State economy, and as deserving help to those who have served
our nation in its military services.
