1983-08 RESOLUTION NO. 83-08
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, PROCLAIMING THE
EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL- EMERGENCY: - - - -
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10 of the City of Grand Terrace empowers the
City Council to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local
emergency when said City is affected or likely to be affected by a public
calamity; and
WHEREAS, said City Council has been requested by the Director of
Emergency Services of said City to proclaim the existence of a local emergency
therein; and
WHEREAS, said City Council does hereby find:
1. That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and
property have arisen within said City, caused by storm commencing on or about
12 o'clock noon on February 27, 1983; and
2. That the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril warrant and
necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND PROCLAIM that a local emergency now exists throughout said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, PROCLAIMED, AND ORDERED that during the
existence of said local emergency, the powers, functions, and duties of the
Director of Emergency Services and the emergency organization of this City
shall be those prescribed by State law, by this City's ordinances and
resolutions, and by the City of Grand Terrace Emergency Plan, as approved by
the City Council .
