1983-32 RESOLUTION NO. 83-32
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE CALIFORNIA
CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION TO CONSIDER IMPLEMENTING
MASS TRANSIT THROUGH THE METRORAIL PROJECT AND
OBTAIN MATCHING FEDERAL FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the virtue of mobility in the Foothill Corridor affects the
quality- of economic life in the area; and
WHEREAS, current technology encourages the use of multiple transport
modes to accomplish the future daily requirements for both commerce and
recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Rapid Transit District's Metrorail
project demonstrates an initial commitment to mass transit and its effective
movement of people along logical routes in the region;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace does
hereby resolve that it urges the CaTifornia Congressional Delegation to do its
utmost to study and understand the value of initiating mass transit through .
the Metrorail project and proceed to obtain for the people of this region the
matching Federal funds that will launch us toward the better utilization of
all our transportation resources.
