1986-28 RESOLUTION NO. 86- 28
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, STRONGLY OPPOSING
CONSTRUCTION OF A REFUSE-TO-ENERGY FACILITY IN THE,
CITY OF RIALTO, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace is concerned .
for the environment of its community; and
WHEREAS, because of this concern, said Council is extremely fearful
that the existing adverse air quality in our Inland Empire would increase
considerably from the burning of tires at a refuse-to-energy plant proposed by
the Rialto Power Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes its position on this matter to be
clearly evidenced at the Public Hearing scheduled for June 18, 1986;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace does
hereby resolve that it strongly opposes construction of a refuse-to energy
facility in the City of Rialto, California, and urges the South Coast Air
Quality Management District Board to hold a Staff hearing so concerns about
this facility can be voiced prior to issuance of a permit.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this Resolution be provided to
all appropriate parties.
