03/06/2018 `%Tr VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY OPERATIONS COMMITTEE MARCH 6, 2018 MINUTES— REGULAR MEETING ATTENDEES Paul Tickner Chairman, Emergency Operations Committee Vic Pfennighausen Emergency Operations Committee Member Hanni Bennett Emergency Operations Committee Member Connie Parsons Emergency Operations Committee Member Joe Ramos Alternate, Emergency Operations Committee Member Item 1: The meeting was called to order at 5:09 p.m. by Chairman Tickner. Item 2a: The meeting Agenda for March 6, 2018 was approved. Item 2b: The minutes for the February 6, 2018 meeting were approved. Item 2c: CERT training and Blue Mountain Walk e Chairman Tickner gave a summary on the CERT training. A discussion took place regarding future CERT classes to be scheduled, including CPR and First AID. Committee Member Phennigausen presented a resident information sample bag mailed by the City of Riverside to its residents. The sample bag included a list of supplies needed in an emergency, CERT information pamphlets, hazard information, and storage of emergency supplies list. Committee Member Phennigausen recommended to prepare something similar for City to mail to its residents. Resident Kidd provided information regarding the Blue Mountain Walk. The event is anticipating about 300 participants. The high school will be volunteering on the water stations set up along the walk. The boy scouts will be volunteering at the signing table located at the walk entrance. The City and Highland Water will have a booth during the event. e Committee Member Phennigausen will be coordinating with Planner Aguirre twelve (12) radios for the event volunteers. Item 2d: CERT organization e Chairman Tickner confirmed the shed and trailer clean up date has been scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2018, from 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. The medical supplies will need to be updated. e The group conducted a CERT organization brainstorm activity. Discussion, and included, how to activate CERT, where will the command post be located, how City of Grand Terrace Page ! /� Minutes Volunteer Emergency Operations Committee Regular Meeting March 6, 2019 do we involve CERT members. CERT positions include Board President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Training Officer. CERT meetings should initially take place every other month. The group agreed to bring ideas to the next meeting to continue CERT organization discussion. Item 2e: Budget for Radio Batteries • Planner Aguirre presented the EOC with the accounts balance. The EOC members made a motion to approve the purchase of twelve (12) radio batteries. Item 3: Next regular meeting date has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 201 B.
