2001-10 RESOLUTION NO 2001-10 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE AUTHORIZING NOMINATION OF A PROJECT FOR FUNDING FROM CONGESTION MANAGEMENT AIR QUALITY (CMAQ) PROGRAM WHEREAS, the CMAQ program was enacted as part of the federal TEA-21 legislation (Public Law 95-198) in 1998, and WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the CMAQ program is to fund transportation projects and programs which reduce transportation related air emissions, and WHEREAS, over $8.1 billion is authorized over the six-year duration of the TEA-21 legislation for CMAQ projects, and WHEREAS, the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) is authorized to administer CMAQ funds for the San Bernardino County portion of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and WHEREAS, SANBAG has issued a call for CMAQ projects with total estimated funds available of $17.4 million, and f WHEREAS., the funds are available to local governments that provide a requisite local funding share for specific eligible activities as defined by the TEA-21 legislation, Caltrans, and SANBAG, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace possesses the legal authority to nominate, finance, acquired, and construct projects that are eligible for funding under the CMAQ program, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace, CA, that: 1. City staff is authorized to nominate to SANBAG for funding under the CMAQ program: Traffic signal on Mount Vernon Avenue at DeBerry Street 2. City staff is authorized to provide requisite local match, co-funding; the amount of which will be approved at'a later date. 3. Patrizia Materassi, as the City of Grand Terrace Community and Economic Development Director, is authorized, as the official representative of the City of Grand Terrace, to act in connection with the nomination and to provide such additional information as may be required.
