Chairman Comstock convened the Meeting of the Planning Commission and Site and
Architectural Review Board.

Sandra Molina, Planning and Development Services Director gave the PowerPoint
presentation for this item.
Discussion ensued amongst the Planning Commission about aesthetics, damage to
public curbs and sidewalks the zoning code and the applicant's lot size.
ADOPT A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA DENYING MINOR RV VARIANCE 18-01 TO
ALLOW A GRAVEL RV PARKING SPACE ACCESSED BY DRIVING OVER THE
PUBLIC CURB AND SIDEWALK AND FRONT YARD LAWN AT PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 22760 DEBERRY STREET (APN 1178-041-07)

C. INFORMATION TO COMMISSIONERS
Sandra Molina, Planning and Development Services Director provided the Planning
Commission a memorandum regarding sign approval for a local business that has
channel letters and then also two cabinet signs on either side. The City's Zoning Code
does not allow cabinet signs, but it allows a sculpted sign the applicant modified the
design so that it met the provisions for a sculpted sign.

On Memorial Day, the Foundation of Grand Terrace Veteran's committee will be having
a Memorial Day event at Veteran's Freedom Park starting at 11:00 a.m.
The City Council directed the City Clerk to advertise for the Planning Commission. The
Commissioners whose terms are expiring in June are encouraged to re-apply.
D. INFORMATION FROM COMMISSIONERS
Tom Comstock, Chairman asked Staff how the westbound offramp at the 1-2151Barton
Road Interchange would be designed.
Alan French, Public Works Director explained there is a retaining structure being
installed and the footing is being excavated at this time.
Chairman Comstock indicated Riverside Highland Water Company is performing work
in front of his home and he had several neighbors approach him asking when the work
would be completed.
Director French stated the Riverside Highland Water Company pulled the permit and
the timeline given was through the end of May 2018.
