02/06/2018 4#' VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY OPERATIONS COMMITTEE FEBURARY 6, 2018 MINUTES -- REGULAR MEETING ATTENDEES Paul Tickner Chairman, Emergency Operations Committee Vic Pfennighausen Emergency Operations Committee Member Hanni Bennett Emergency Operations Committee Member Connie Parsons Emergency Operations Committee Member Joe Ramos Alternate, Emergency Operations Committee Member Item 1: The meeting was called to order at 5:10 p.m. by Chairman Tickner. Item 2a: The meeting Agenda for February 6, 2018 was approved. Item 2b: Approve the minutes for January 2, 2018. Item 2c: CERT. • Chairman Tickner confirmed the CERT training dates for March 3, 10 and 17. Planner Aguirre, stated a letter and flyer had been e-mailed to all the residents who signed up for the training. • Chairman Tickner asked Planner Aguirre to ask Michael Ramirez if the EOC group can be spectators during the training, so that there is more available sitting for the residents. Planner Aguirre will coordinate the site visit and verify the water access needs. • Committee Member Phennigausen provided newspaper information regarding the CERT training from Highgrove scheduled for March 9, 10, and 17. He also shared a supply information packet from the County of Riverside to be used as a sample packet to provide for the residents. Item 2d: CERT material and equipment inventory • Chairman Tickner gave an update to the group regarding the trailer inventory that took place on Sunday, January 21, 2018. The inventory took less than one hour, Committee Member Bennett typed the inventory list and Chairman Tickner took pictures. The medical supplies are expired, and the fire extinguishers maintenance expired on February 2013. • The follow up inventory date is scheduled for Friday, April 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the City's yard. Planner Aguirre will coordinate with Public Works to have the trash container moved next to the trailer and shed. o� zfl�g City of Grand Terrace page I Minutes Volunteer Emergency Operations Committee Regular Meeting February 6, 2018 Item 2e: Blue Mountain Walk • Chairman Tickner stated Committee Member Bennett, Committee Member Ramos, and Committee Member Pfennighausen will be assisting during the Blue Mountain Walk. The rest of the group will be attending the CERT training. • Planner Aguirre communicated that a meeting had been scheduled with Public Works to coordinate the Blue Mountain set up, including a table, an EZ up and chairs. Item 2f. AM 1640 • Chairman Tickner gave an update regarding the public service announcement and stated that him and Committee Member Parsons prepared a recording for the Blue Mountain Hike, the City's Spring Cleaning, and updated three announcements. Item 2g: Hand-held radios • Committee Member Phennigausen proposed to purchase 12 new batteries for the radios. • Chairman Tickner made a motion to purchase 12 batteries if there is a remaining balance of at least $1,000 in the budget.
