GRAND TERRACE, DETERMINING GENERAL PLAN CONFORMITY
PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 65402 FOR THE
PROPOSED DISPOSITION OF APPROXIMATELY 53 ACRES GENERALLY
LOCATED BETWEEN THE 1-215 FREEWAY AND MICHIGAN STREET (APNS
1167-151-22; -68, -71, -74, 1167-161-03 AND -04)

3. Findings of Conformance with Government Code Section 65401 for the Revised 5-Year
Capital Improvement Plan
Director Molina introduced Mr. Yanni Demitri as the new Public Works Director and
presented a staff report for the item.
Chair Comstock asked if any plans were in place to develop sidewalks from Van Buren
St. To De Berry St. along Michigan St. Mr. Demitri responded that no citywide plans are
in place to develop sidewalks at.this time.
Chair Comstock suggested that sidewalk installation be a priority to the City for the
safety of children currently riding bikes on the street. Mr. Demitri added that City seeks
funding opportunities and this could qualify for a Safe Routes to School Grant.

Deliberation from Commission:
City Manager, G. Harold Duffey talked about addressing draining issues and widening
streets prior to installing sidewalks. There was also brief discussion about truck routes,
the interchange project, and future infrastructure development in the city.

GRAND TERRACE, DETERMINING THAT THE 5-YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PLAN CONFORMS TO THE GRAND TERRACE GENERAL PLAN PURSUANT TO
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 65401

Director Molina mentioned that the hearing item held November 3, 2016 was appealed
and would be going to Council on December 13, 2016 due to the public's opposition.
INFORMATION FROM COMMISSIONERS
Commission Giroux asked whether there was a meeting December 1, 2016 and Ms.
Molina responded that there would be a meeting December 15, 2016 but not the first,
meeting of December.
