MAY 20, 1993
The regular meeting of the Grand Terrace Planning Commission was called to order at the
Grand Terrace Civic Center, 22795 Barton Road, Grand Terrace, California on May 20,
1993 at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Dan Buchanan.

GENERAL PLAN TASK FORCE RECEPTION

Introduction of new Planning Commissioner, Matthew Addington.
The Planning Director said the City Council approved the Sign Subsidy for
the Quentin Smith Shopping Center at the last meeting. She said City
Council supported the Planning Commission recommendation regarding the
Mc Duffee project, with the only change to eliminate 2' from the 17' being
dedicated to Barton Road. She said in the City and Chamber newsletters,
staff is asking the citizens to submit comments regarding the General Plan.

The Planning Technician presented the staff report.

Mr. Smith asked for the Commission's approval on this project, stating there
was a dance studio there before and there were never any problems with
anything, including parking.

Vice -Chairman Sims made a motion to amend Condition 7 to read that the
applicant be required to publish and advertise a carpooling program for
employees and customers coming into the business.
The Commission, staff and the applicant discussed the different approaches
that could be used, with suggestions to hand out consent form to release
interested parties' information as well as ride share information along with
students' registration material.
Vice -Chairman Sims restated the motion. Commissioner Van Gelder
seconded.
Motion carries. 7-0-0-0.
Vice -Chairman Sims made a motion to approve CUP-93-05. Commissioner
Wilson second.
Motion carries. 7-0-0-0.
