MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
DUNE 17, 1993
The regular meeting of the Grand Terrace Planning Commission was called to order at the
Grand Terrace Civic Center, 22795 Barton Road, Grand Terrace, California on June 17,
1993 at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Dan Buchanan.

CONVENED PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AT 7:00 P.M.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
Commissioner Van Gelder stated that she would be absent from the July 1,
1993 meeting. She commented that the Advocate School landscaping looks
very nice. She asked for staff to look into the excessive window signage at the
Grand Terrace Liquor, Village Foods and Smart Time Foods. She said
Village Food actually has a sign attached to the building itself.
The Planning Director stated that staff has a sign package ready, and as soon
as it is distributed, staff will start doing code enforcement. She also stated
that Planning fees were found to be 200% to 400% lower than other cities,
and she proposed code enforcement fees to be attached as fines.
Commissioner Wilson expressed concern regarding excessive speed on
Observation.

The Planning Director said she would mention this at staff meeting and
perhaps the speed display device could be placed there by the Sheriffs
Department.
Commissioner Wilson expressed appreciation for everyone's involvement with
the Grand Terrace Days Parade and Fair.

RESOLUTION
PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION TO REQUIRE PLAYHOUSES WITH
HEIGHT EXCEEDING WALL OR FENCE LINE TO BE SUBJECT TO
ADMINISTRATIVE SITE AND ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW
CITY OF GRAND TERRACE
CITYWIDE
The Planning Director presented the resolution.
Discussion continued regarding having height as the factor for triggering Site
and Architectural Review. There was some concern about having a resolution
for individual types of projects, and it was decided to put it in the context of
"accessory structures" rather than have a separate resolution.
The Planning Director stated she could bring back a revised resolution at the
next meeting.

Chairman Buchanan stated that the applicant has requested a continuance.
The Planning Director said they are trying to have a revised map by the July
1, 1993 meeting.
