BACKGROUND
•In previous election years,the CityofGrandTerracehasservedasamail(absentee)ballot drop offlocation.The County of SanBernardino’s Elections office wouldprovidetheCitywithacardboardballotboxthatwouldallowresidentstodropofftheirballotsandtheElectionsofficewouldberesponsibleforperiodicallypickingupthoseballots.
DISCUSSION
•The County Elections office has requestedthatCityHallserveasanOfficialBallotDropBoxlocation.In place of thecardboardballotbox,the County willinstallapermanent,secure Ballot DropBoxwhichwillbelocatedoutsideofCityHallonthewestsideofthebuilding.
•The County will incur all costs andmaintenanceoftheBallotDropBox.
RECOMMENDATION
•Approve the Agreement betweentheCityofGrandTerraceandtheCountyofSanBernardinoforInstallationofaBallotDropBoxatCityHall;and,
•Authorize the County of SanBernardinotoinstallaBallotDropBoxonthewestsideoftheCityHall;and
•Authorize the City Manager to signtheAgreement
