❖The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors set
aside $25 million in their allocation of Coronavirus
Relief Funds (CRF)to allocate to cities &towns for
infrastructure projects.
❖Funding received for eligible projects require a 1:1
match from the local city or town;part of that match,
may be the City’s own CARES Act Funding.

❖The City submitted an application for the
improvements to the City Hall’s/Library’s
Heating,Ventilation,and Air-Conditioning
(HVAC)system in the amount of $267,700.

❖Improvements to the HVAC system will provide
the following:
❖Provide safety &improved indoor air quality
as a result of the heightened risk of COVID-
19 transmission specific to air pathogens;and

❖Provide improved safety controls &
equipment for new filtration &ultra-violet
light treatment for airborne disinfection and
inactivating bacterial and fungal organisms.

❖On October 30,2020,the City received Notice of
Eligible Projects,citing the City’s HVAC
Infrastructure Project as approved and authorizing
the City to proceed.

❖Authorizes the City Manager to enter into
contracts to arrange for the procurement of
materials,goods or services necessary to contain,
respond,mitigate the effects of the COVID-19
virus;and
❖City procurement or related policy are suspended
to address the effects of COVID-19.

❖Because Honeywell Intl purchased and installed
the City’s HVAC system,the City Manager sought
&received a proposal from them.
❖As such,the City Manager will be executing a
purchase order to Honeywell for the HVAC system
improvements in the amount of $267,700.

In order for staff to use its CARES Act designated
funding as part of the match for this project,the
