Mayor Darcy McNaboeOn January 27, 2021, Mayor Darcy McNaboe attended the California JPIA Executive
Committee of the Board of Directors and discussed the following:
• 2021 Academies Plan
• Beginning March through May 2021, the Academies will be held three
consecutive half-days virtually and speakers will be remote or in -person at the
JPIA facility.
• Beginning June 2021, the Academies will be held under a Hybrid platform and
speakers will be in-person. Both virtual and hybrid academy events will originate
from the Authority’s California Room.

On February 2-3, 2021, Omnitrans’ Executive Director and Directors of Operations,
Human Resources and Strategic Development attended a virtual Autonomous Vehicles
and Public Transport Conference. The conference focused on pilot programs, a vision
for Transit-Autonomous Vehicles alignment, Autonomous Vehicle use cases in transit
and the impact of Autonomous Vehicles on the workforce.
Mayor McNaboe announced that Omnitrans’ is examining the ability to provide
transportation to the County’s large vaccination sites and will be worki ng with County
staff on how to contribute.
Additionally, Omnitrans has received its first four electric vehicles and New Flyer staff
was on-site conducting technical training to the Omnitrans Staff.
On February 3, 2021, Mayor McNaboe attended the Board o f Directors Meeting for the
San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and discussed the following:
• Authorized Next Steps in the Development of the Ontario Loop
• Plans for an Underground Transit Loop between the Rancho Cucamonga
Metrolink Station and Ontario International Airport.
• The Board authorized negotiations to begin with the Boring Company founded by
Elon Musk. Boring was the only company to respond to a recent Request for
Qualifications to build the nearly four-mile tunnel, which will connect Metrolink’s
busiest line with the nation’s fastest-growing airport three years running. The
subterranean transit system would shuttle thousands of passengers per day
between the Rancho Cucamonga station and Ontario using zero-emission
vehicles.
