HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
Minutes for July 5, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 6 :10 p.m. by Chairperson Pauline
Grant. Those also present were Ann Petta, Frances Carter, Masako
Gifford, Martina Boentaran, Susan Robles, Martha Monteon and City
Clerk, Pat Jacquez Nares . Shelly Rosenkild was absent.
SECRETARY' S REPORT: The minutes for June 6, 2016 were read and ap-
proved with a motion by Ann and seconded by Masako, all members in
favor.
TREASURER' S REPORT: End of year report: The budget shows a total
balance of $849 . 09 and a petty cash of $283 .06 . Martina received
a reimbursement of $7 . 91 for photo expense.
Begining of fiscal year budget report: The budget shows a total
balance of $1 , 000 . 00 and a petty cash of $283 . 06 .
HISTORICAL REPORT: Ann talked to Jane Haines from the Senior Citi-
zens Complex and Jane is working in getting another Senior on chang
ing the glass display case.
NEW BUSINESS: Country Fair - Saturday, November 5, 2016
at City Hall 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
City Clerk, Pat Jacquez Nares, informed us that City Manager, Harold
Duffey approved the use of City Hall facility and grounds for the
celebration of the 35th. Country Fair.
The Fair will take place outdoors and indoors with vendors inside
the community room and some outdoors. Only the first floor will be
used; the doors to the second floor will be locked.
We will be able to use the City Hall chamber for the food contest
judging and award ceremony at the end of the event. The adjacent
kitchen can be used to handle food for the contest and for the sale
of food.
Indoor events can be televised on channel 3 .
A new banner will be made and we will be able to give our approval .
Martina has made a layout diagram and will add new details as need-
ed and she will be in charge of making posters .
Entertainment: Renowned Soprano singer Alessandra Sorace has been
contacted by Shelly to sing at the event.
The meeting was adjourned at 7 : 10 p.m.
Next meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 06 NO MEETING IN. AUGUST
