HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
Minutes for March 7, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 6:06 P.M. by Chairperson Pauline
Grant. Those also present were Ann Petta, Masako Gifford, Shelly
Rosenkild, Martina Boentaran, Susan Robles, Martha Monteon and City
Clerk, Pat Jacquez Nares. Frances Carter was absent.
SECRETARY' S REPORT: The minutes for February 1 , 2016 were read and
approved on a motion by Ann and seconded by Masako, all members in
favor.
TREASURER' S REPORT: The budget shows a total balance of $849. 09
and a petty cash of $336 .89.
HISTORICAL REPORT: The Senior Citizens Complex has been updating
the glass display case, located in the City Hall lobby.
Ann broght ten years of treasurer' s Report records from 1997 to
2007 that belong to the Historical and„ Cultural Activities Commit-
tee. The minutes were kept at the Lions Club building and have
been donated to the HCAC. These records will be kept as part of
the archives.
NEW BUSINESS: Art Show - Sunday, May 1 , 2016
Applications are already appearing in the Blue Mountain Outlook
Newspaper and also posted online.
Shelly will take care of the posters . Susan will send the Art Show
advertisement to the local newspapers .
The Committee decided to accept the offer from City Manager, Harold
Duffey, to swap the insurance fee for Art in public places for the
new events . The City will pay for the insurance and the Committee
will pay $.150 .00 to cover professional design and display of posters
at the special kiosks located in different parts of the city.
We will be able to give approval on the design of the posters.
Pat will come back with more information at the next meeting.
The City requested that Shelly signs a release form for the painting
of the Art Show display peg boards . Pat Jacquez Nares , City Clerk,
will put in an order for light cream color paint.
Masako needs to purchase small foam plates for the Art Show refresh-
ments .
The meeting was adjourned at 6: 57 P.M.
