Council Member Doug WilsonCouncil Member Doug Wilson communicated with a representative of Insomniac, who had its team travel around Grand Terrace to determine the sound impacts of its events at the National Orange Show. Council Member Wilson recommended that the representatives park in front of his home during peak hours of the event to measure the sound levels. He also suggested that their third party sound monitors follow from his location, north, to a point of origin to determine if the uniqueness of the California Resources easement where a channel has been created over time might be adding to the amount of low pressure volume and therefore impacting particular sections of the City, which he believes the City’s sheriff’s department intended to map and get to the City Manager about the complaints that they have received to help determine whether or not there is in fact a channel the impact is making its way through. Council Member Wilson is happy to report that the quonset hut over in the northwest corner of the National Orange Show has been demolished which he believes amplified the sound towards the direction of the City and this removal of the structure should make a difference in the reduction of sound during the next scheduled event. Council Member Wilson suggested that the City hire their own third party sound evaluator, as well.
