COMMUNrrY SERVICES: Staff is recommending that the work force be reduced by eliminating the full time position of Maintenance Supervisor. Salary and benefits package: approximately$89,508/yr. COMMUNrTY ECONOMIC AND REDEVELOPMENT: Staff is recommending that the work force be reduced by eliminating the full time position of Planning Secretary. Salary and benefits package$58,507.40/yr. Total annual savings in wage and benefits would be approximately: $148,015.88 for the elimination of these 2 positions. FY2008-09 savings would be$71,528.91 with one time payouts due to vacation and sick leave at approximately$12,000 for an annual net savings of$59,528.91. CHILD CARE CENTER: Elimination of the following three positions and decreasing hours of two existing positions—totaling an annual employee savings amount of $57,721.29 FY2008-09 savings would be$27,658.11,with one time payouts due to personal leave at approximately$85.09 for one employee only(due to eligibility for'cash out' rules),for an annual net savings of$27,743.16. _1. ,f Eliminate Position#1: Cook—(30 hours per week) Salary and benefits Total: $18,428.25 Eliminate Position#2: Teacher's Aide in two year old room—(35 hours per week) Salary and benefits Total: $19,502.90 Eliminate Position#3: Teacher Aide for Tiny Tots—(Decrease of 8 hours per week) Salary and benefits Total: $4,457.81 Decreasing of hours for Position#4: Teacher Aide for School Age (Decrease of 6 hrs weekly) Salary and benefits Total: $ 3,510.52 Decrease of hours for Position 95: Lead Teacher for School Age (Decrease of 14.5 hrs weekly) Salary and benefits Total: $ 11,821.81 STAFF RECOMMENDATION: STAFF RECOMMENDS THAT DUE TO THE BUDGETARY CONCERNS OF THE CITY THAT COUNCIL REDUCE THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE WORK FORCE BY ELIMINATING THE POSITION OF MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR AND ELIMINATE ONE PLANNING SECRETARY POSITION RESULTING IN A SAVINGS OF APPROXIMATELY$148,015.88 ANNUALLY. STAFF RECOMMENDS THAT DUE TO THE BUDGETARY CONCERNS OF THE CITY CHILD CARE CENTER THAT COULCIL REDUCE THE CHILD CARE CENTER WORK FORCE BY LAYING OFF THE POSITIONS OF COOK,ONE FULL TIME TEACHER ASSISTANT,ONE PART TIME TEACHER ASSISTANT,AND DECREASEING THE HOURS OF ONE TEACHER ASSISTANT AND ONE LEAD TEACHER,RESULTING IN A SAVINGS OF APPROXIMATELY$57,721.29 ANNUALLY.
