1995-11 RESOLUTION 95-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE THE CITY OF
GRAND TERRACE OPPOSING THE SPLIT OF THE INLAND EMPIRE
DIVISION OF THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES INTO SEPARATE
RIVERSIDE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY DIVISIONS.
WHEREAS, there is a current proposal to split the Inland Empire Division of the League of
California Cities into two separate Riverside and San Bernardino County Divisions; and
WHEREAS, there are considerable efforts urging the Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino
to jointly market the "Inland Empire" concept; and
WHEREAS, splitting the Division will sever the last organized political interaction between
Council Members in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties; and
WHEREAS, this issue has always been defeated when it has been proposed in the past; and
WHEREAS, splitting the Division will not increase our voice in Sacramento.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Grand Terrace
is opposed to any efforts to split the Inland Empire Division of the League of California Cities.
