1987-21 RESOLUTION NO. 87-21
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE
FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND
UTILITIES DISTRICT
The City Council of the City of Grand Terrace does hereby
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows :
Section 1. That this Council did adopt Resolution No 87-20 on
August 27, 1987 setting a public hearing for September 10, 1987 at
6: 30 p.m. , to determine whether the public interest, necessity,
health, safety or .welfare requires the removal of poles,' overhead
wires, and associated overhead structures within the area
hereinafter described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and.
incorporated herein.
Section 2. That notice of such •hearing has been given in the
time and manner required by law to all affected property owners as
shown on the last equalized assessment roll and to the utilities
concerned.
Section 3. That such hearing was duly and regularly held on
September 10, 1987, and all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard;
Section 4. That environmental review of this project has been
made and it has been determined that the project is exempt under
CEQA.
Section 5, That it is hereby determined that the public
interest, health, safety and/or welfare will benefit by the removal
of all poles, overhead wires, and associated overhead structures,
and the underground installation of wires and facilities for
supplying electric, communication and similar and associated
services .
Section 6. That the territory described in Exhibit "A" is
hereby declared to be and is formed as an Underground Utilites
District to be known and designated as the Grand Terrace Underground
Utilities District No 87-1.
Section 7. That the cost of any and all work hereby ordered, on
property for which the owner of said property has granted the
easements or rights-of-way requested by the City in regards to said
District, shall be the responsibility of the City of Grand Terrace
and shall not be assessed against the property or the owner thereof.
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall , within ten (10 ) days
after the effective date hereof, mail a copy of this Resolution to
each affected utility- and, within thirty (30 ) days after the
effective date hereof, mail a notice of the actions taken, ordered,
and directed hreby to all property owners within the said
Underground Utilities District.
