Cost for FY2024-25 -$2,540,112 Cost for FY2025-26 -$2,525,581 The following items have contributed to the net decrease from the current year to next year: •RETIREMENT –Safety retirement rates decreased by approximately 5.5% •WORKERS’ COMPENSATION –Rates applied to staffing costs decreased by 8% •RISK MANAGEMENT INSURANCE PREMIUMS –Total premiums allocated to cities increased by $2 million •TASERS –Cost per TASER increased due to a new agreement with Axon for the new TASER 10 model (Demonstrated during the April 15th meeting) Continue Progress on Grand Terrace Substation Community office for deputies to work on reports and investigations Meet with residents Be more visible and responsive to calls for service Establish regular hours of operation where office would be staffed and available for walk-ins •Take reports •Citation sign-offs •Be available for general questions and address community concerns Additional Flock Cameras Flock cameras provide our deputies with a powerful investigative tool that will help identify and capture criminals committing crimes in Grand Terrace. Flock cameras were installed the week of June 1-5, 2024 –all cameras are up and running. A total of 12 cameras were installed with the plan to install 8-10 more in the future Looking ahead to next year... Customer Service Unit Telephone report unit consisting of deputies taking crime reports of low-level offenses takes reports away from patrol deputies making them more available for priority calls YTD 2024 –Calls Handled = 108 Reports Taken = 71 1st Qtr. 2025 –Calls Handled = 23 Reports Taken = 11 Looking ahead to next year...
