INVOCATION The Invocation was given by Reverend Father Andrew Lesko from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and serving as Chaplain to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. City Department Monthly Activity Report - June 2018 RECEIVE AND FILE. C. PUBLIC COMMENT Cindy Grande, President of the Foundation of Grand Terrace, presented the. City Council with a check from its Dog Park Endowment Fund in the sum of $7,296.05 to be deposited into the City's Dog Park Endowment Fund. Bobbie Forbes, .Grand Terrace commented on how pleased she was attending the City's recent Movies in the Park and thanked all of those who participated putting the event together. She announced the loss of a friend to a home fire, as well as several others who suffered devastating losses to fires. She suggested that everyone take an opportunity to have the electrical in their homes inspected as a preventative measure against fire. D. CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS Council Member Kenneth J. Henderson Council Member Kenneth J. Henderson attended the Grand Terrace Soccer Kick-off, the Grand Terrace High School Football Kick-off and Movies in the Park at Susan Petta Park. City of Grand Terrace Page 2 Minutes Grand Terrace City Council August 28, 2018 Council Member Henderson encouraged all of the community to attend the County Fire Department Community Meeting regarding the proposed parcel tax on FP-5 being held , at Grand Terrace High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. He informed the public that he has requested this topic be agendized before the October 16, 2018 County Board of Supervisors meeting. Council Member Bill Hussey Council Member Bill Hussey attended the Colton Joint Unified School District Community Cabinet meeting where a discussion on trade schools and its curriculum was held. He also held a meeting with Assembly Member Reyes staff where he has requested a meeting with Assembly Member Reyes to discuss AB 2567 permitting standard use of camera enforcement technology on streetsweepers, playground equipment for special needs children and adults, and assistance with funding for additional law enforcement and equipment. Council Member Doug Wilson Council Member Doug Wilson attended the Soccer Kick-off and the Grand Terrace High School Football Kick-off. Mayor Pro Tern Sylvia Robles Mayor Pro Tern Sylvia Robles requested an upgrade to the folding chairs the City provides in its Community Room. She also would like the City to consider sponsoring some sort of live performance next summer. Mayor Pro Tern Robles would like Staff to research a small grant for important home . repairs for homeowners'that may not otherwise be in a position to afford such repairs: Mayor Darcy McNaboe Mayor Darcy McNaboe thanked the Board Members of the Grand Terrace Soccer League and the members of the Football Boosters for the time and effort they put into their respective teams each season. Mayor McNaboe also wanted to thank the Foundation of Grand Terrace for its generous donation to the City's Dog Park Endowment Fund. E. PUBLIC HEARINGS - NONE F. Measure I Capital Project Needs Analysis for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 through 2023-2024 Alan French, Director of Public Works gave the Power Point presentation for this item. Mayor Pro Tern Robles wanted to clarify for the residents that Michigan Street will remain two lanes. City of Grand Terrace Page 4 Minutes Grand Terrace City Council August 28, 2018 Director French confirmed that the plan for Michigan Street is two lanes. Council Member Hussey requested that Staff notify the residents in the area that Michigan will remain two lanes. City Manager Duffey stated Staff will send residents in the subject area that part of the staff report highlighting the information clarifying that Michigan will remain two lanes.
