A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER OF
APPROVED MEMBERS FOR THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS
COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on April 8, 1982, the Grand Terrace City Council directed Staff to
begin organizing an Emergency Operations Committee; and
WHEREAS, on January 27, 1983, the Grand Terrace City Council established
the Emergency Operations Committee and their duties and responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, on April 14, 1998 the Grand Terrace City Council established local
advisory and regulatory Boards, Commissions and Committees for the purpose of
assisting in the effectiveness of City Government and Services by Policy; and
WHEREAS, on April 14, 1998 the Emergency Operations Committee was
established as a seven member body, each with a four year term; and
WHEREAS, the terms of office are staggered so that one-half of the members
terms shall expire on June 30 of even-numbered years; and
WHEREAS, on January 13, 2005, the City Council added an Alternate Member
Position to the Emergency Operations Committee; and
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2006, the City Council added two (2) additional
Alternate Member Positions to the Emergency Operations Committee; and
WHEREAS, on August 8, 2008, the City Council added one (1) additional
Alternate Member Position to the Committee, thereby having seven (7) Regular Member
Positions and four (4) Alternate Member Position each with a four year term; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to reduce the approved Regular
Member Positions from seven(7) to five (5) Regular Member Positions eliminating one
position expiring June 30, 2014 and one position expiring June 30, 2016;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Emergency Operations Committee shall be made up of five (5)
Regular Members and four (4) Alternate Members each with a four year term.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution, and it shall take effect and be in force.
