Item 1: The meeting was called to order by Kelvin Oberlies, CERT Coordinator at 6:00
p.m.
Item 2a: The meeting Agenda was approved
Item 2b: The minutes for the March 5, 2019, were pushed for approval to the meeting of
May 7, 2019.
Item 2c: CERT Board Members Welcome
• Brief welcome by City Staff to the CERT Coordinator, Planning and Outreach,
Secretary/Treasurer, Training, and Logistics (first formal meeting)
Item2d: CERT Basics. Initial Class Training
• John Ferdon reviewed the scheduled dates for the GT CERT training
o June 8, 15, & 22 from 8:00-5:00pm
o October'12,19, 26 from 8:00-5`OOpm.
o Need to reserve the Community Room
o Shannon Kendall and Joe Ramos will assist with the training
o' Mike Perkoski will do module 2, for fire and.medical operations (need
water and electric source, coordinate with'Public Works)
• John. Ferdon gave updates for the upcoming training activities
o ICS.200 Fire Police and Public Works class.
o Saturday and Sunday April.6 and 7. The FEMA online course can be
taken; however, it can be taken in written form at the County.
o April 13 OES is hosting an event forward to the group;
o April 20 the American Heart Association.Program,-all-volunteers need to
take it$20.00 which is the fee from the American Heart Association.
o April 27'annual terrorism training, free at OES, April 7 in Big Bear 'Sound
the alarm' they go into homes and install smoke detectors (donating-items
and information, broken into teams).
o Program Manager training will be schedule in fall, August at County OES

o CERT train the trainer will be scheduled for June 28 to 30.in Yucaipa, Joe
Ramos and, additional CERT members may want to attend
• Haide Aguirre to forward the Iatest.training information to the CERT group
• Active 911 training (3 people may be included 'in the 911 system) team
coordinator and one additional person.

;NOTES: CERT would like to have a booth at the Fireworks Fundraiser sale and assits by distributing rules and fines and fireworks safety zone map

Ion Thursday,July4,2019,from 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.to help distribute'fireworks safety information from the City. - {
• Hanni Bennet will assist with the newspaper adds for any of the events, edit, and
newspaper posting (every second week), Paul Tickner recommended to do radio
spots and City media announcements.
• John Ferdon stated that all.the special events and.activities need to have a
training component and need.to be approved by CAL OES, John Ferdon in
advance for insurance purposes.
Item 3: Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday,.May 7, 2019
• Request:.Add.to the agenda the inventory discussion-(closet, trailer, shed, metal
storage unit-and the. Fire Department).
