Item 2b: The minutes for the meetings of from May 7, 2019 were approved and signed. Item 2c: CERT Coordinator and Training Coordinator • The group selected a topic and date to conduct a 15-minute training activity during the CERT meetings. The schedule is the following: • July 2, 2019 — Ralph Villasenor (Light Search and Rescue Operations) • August 6, 2019 — Paul Tickner (TBD) • September 3, 2019 — James Mejia (Hazmat Information) • October 1, 2019 — Kevin Oberlies (Conducting Head to Toe Assessments) • November 5, 2019 — Bill Fenn (Working with Survivors/Trauma) • December 3, 201.9 —TBD (This meeting might be cancelled) Item 2d: Training and Planning and Outreach. • The CERT Basic Training scheduled for June 8, 15, & 22 was cancelled. • The group will coordinate the CERT Basic Training scheduled for October 12,19, & 26 from 8:00-5:oopm. • The group still working on the following areas: • With the assistance of San Bernardino County, coordinate trainers • Contact interested residents from the multiple community Outreach events • Update the CERT flyer to be posted in all City media outlets and in the City's radio station. • Possible banner flyer signs to be posted at the City's monument sign and a newspaper ad for public outreach. • A CERT booth for Grand Terrace Community Day, Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. will be attended by Ralph Villasenor, Joe Ramos, and Haide Aguirre to distribute fireworks safety information. • On July 4, 2019, a CERT booth will be set up next to the fireworks stand at Stater Bros from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to distribute a fireworks safety pamphlet. The CERT booth will be attended by Kelvin Oberlies and Joe Ramos. JUNE 4, 2019 MINUTES — REGULAR MEETING • In anticipation to the CERT Basic Training class, the community room needs to be reserved, including access to water, electricity, and blocking the first three parking spaces closest to the building. Item 2e: Planning and Outreach and Logistics CERT Cooling Center coordination continued, including the following • Cooling Center standard: The Grand Terrace Senior Center and it is open when temperatures reach 110° F or more, or when the City experiences a long-term power.outage. • Cooling Center: items needed to assist residents, include water, ice, ice packs and emergency safety kits. • Coordinator Oberlies will monitor the weather and alert volunteers • Silver Lining bus services available: call list for seniors interested • Outreach: newspaper ad, radio spot, and prepare guidelines, including hours of operation. • Radio Spot: to be prepared and posted by radio volunteers (Paul Tickner and Connie Parsons) • Flyer to be posted at the City Website.
