RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA MAKING THE DETERMINATION UNDER
DETERMINATION OF USE CASE NO. 01-01 THAT AUTOBROKERS ARE A
PERMITTED USE IN THE OFFICE/PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT OF THE
BARTON ROAD SPECIFIC PLAN
WHEREAS, the applicant, VIP Motors, has applied for a Determination of Use to allow
autobrokers in the Office/Professional District of the Barton Road Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, this matter was duly reviewed and discussed at the regular meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Grand Terrace on August 16, 2001; and
WHEREAS,the Barton Road Specific Plan specifies that the Planning Commission has the
responsibility to make land use determinations where a particular use has not been listed in a land
use district within the Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, autobrokers are a listed use in the Office/Professional District of the Barton
Road Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS,autobrokers are licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles of the State of
California; and
WHEREAS,the autobroker use is essentially the same as any other business office which .
is a permitted use in the Office/Professional District; and
WHEREAS, the autobroker use will not have a detrimental effect on other office type
businesses currently permitted in the Office/Professional District; and
WHEREAS,permitting the autobroker use in the Office/Professional District will further
the City's economic goals including reducing vacancy rates in commercial areas.
WHEREAS,the following findings for the Determination of Use as outlined in the Barton
Road Specific Plan are made:
1. The autobroker use is consistent with the overall intent of the district (the Office and
Professional District) in which the use is proposed.
2. The autobroker use is consistent with the other listed permitted uses in the Office and
Professional District.
NOW,THEREFORE,THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF GRAND
TERRACE DOES MAKE THE FOLLOWING DETERMINATION OF USE:
1. The autobroker use is a permitted use in the Office/Professional District of the Barton
Road Specific Plan subject to all other rights and privileges of the other permitted uses in that
District and to all other City requirements such as land use clearance, certificate of occupancy and
business license tax.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Grand Terrace,
California, at a regular meeting held on the 16`"day of August 2001.
