A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF GRAND TERRACE, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING CUP-88-4 ALLOWING A TANNING SALON
TO BE LOCATED AT 22440 BARTON ROAD, SUITE 19
PER SECTION 18 . 30 . 030 OF THE GRAND TERRACE
MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS , the Applicants , Kevin R. Pope and Mark A. Bixler,
aplied for a conditional use permit to al-low the operation of a
tanning salon within an AP zone located at 22440 Barton Road,
Suite 19 ; and
WHEREAS , the proposed use is a permitted use in an AP zone
with a conditional use permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of
the City of Grand Terrace, California, that the following
findings have been made :
1 . The proposed use will not be detrimental to the general
health, safety, morals , comfort or general welfare of the persons
residing or working within the neighborhood of the proposed use
or within the City. A tanning salon is a ,permitted use in an AP
zone with a conditional use permit . Considering the description
of the business and the specific site proposed, this application
should not be detrimental .
2 . The proposed use will not be injurious to property or
improvements in the neighborhood or within the City. The center
will be improved by the rental of a vacant suite and further,
this rental and use will bring more business into Grand Terrace .
3 . The proposed use is consistent with the latest adopted
General Plan. The current General Plan use is for
Office/Commercial . This use has been interpreted by the zoning
code to be permitted with a conditional use permit .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT CUP 88-4 shall be conditioned as
follows :
Fire extinguishers are required in accordance with the
Uniform Fire Code Standard #10-1 .
