GRAND TERRACE PLANNING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MAY 2, 1988
The regular meeting of the Grand Terrace Planning Commission was
called to order at the Grand Terrace Civic Center, 22795 Barton
Road, Grand Terrace, California, on May 2, 1988 at 7:00 p.m. by
Chairman
Norman Caouette.

WORKSHOP
CONVENED AT 6:30 P.M.
Presentation of the South La Cadena Drive
Beautification Program by the City of Colton.
Speakers were Frank Benest, City Manager of
Colton, Jaime Aguilar, the Planning Director of
Colton, and Jerry Butler, consultant from BOYLE
Engineering.
The Planning Director informed the Planning
Commission that Items #1 and 2, Clark/CUP-88-3 and
SA-88-4 should be continued to May 16, 1988 due to
not receiving communication back from Cal Trans.
WORKSHOP ADJOURNED AT 7:15 P.M.
PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING CONVENED AT 7:15 P.M.
Discussion on the South La Cadena Drive
Beautification Program and City of Grand Terrace's
financial input.

VICE -CHAIRWOMAN VAN GELDER MOVED THAT THE PLANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL STRONG
DISCUSSION ON ALL ASPECTS AND ADOPTING THE SOUTH
LA CADENA DRIVE BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM.
COMMISSIONER MUNSON SECOND.

PCM-88-37 MOTION CARRIED. ALL AYES. 7-0-0-0.
Chairman Caouette asked for further discussion on
any items.
Mr. Benest commended the staff on working with the
City of Colton during the past ,year on their
project.
Commissioner Hargrave asked what was needed from
Cal Trans on the CUP-88-3 and SA-88-4/Clark
project.
The Planning Director clarified that the reason
for the continuance of CUP-88-3 and SA-88-4/Clark
was due to further study needed from Cal Trans on
the right of way improvements. He mentioned that
the other items that had been continued from an
earlier meeting, such as CY Development/Coffin,
was due to the General Plan Revision involving
Commerce Way.
