Transportation Board of Directors Meeting and discussed the following:
• San Bernardino County Active Transportation Plan Update
o Approved Revisions
o As SBCTA goes through the Active Transportation Plan, there might be
opportunities for funding for projects that the City of Grand Terrace has
throughout the City.
• Tunnel to Ontario International Airport – Memorandum of Understanding with the
Airport Authority
o Result in maybe some amazing mode of transportation from Metrolink to
the Airport in an underground fashion instead of rail or other methods that
would come in contact with either pedestrians or the motoring public
o Cancel the Request for Proposals for preparation of Alternatives Ana lysis
for the Ontario International Airport
o Approve Memorandum of Understanding between SBCTA and Ontario
International Airport Authority for development of a tunnel connection
between the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station and ONT.
o Approve an allocation of additional funding with specific fund sources to
be recommended upon contract award
• Received presentation from DesertXpress Enterprises regarding a privately
funded high-speed passenger rail connection between Las Vegas, Nevada, and
the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station.
• Receive and file the SBCTA and Omnitrans Consolidation Study
o Approve staff recommendation to not consolidate SBCTA and Omnitrans
• Collaborate in the creation of the Eleventh Element within the Countywide Vision:
o Education
o Housing
o Jobs/Economy
o Infrastructure
o Public Safety
o Water
o Wellness
o Environment
o Image Quality of Life
o San Bernardino County 2020 ballot Initiative: Measure J Discussion
