HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-02-2015 n F HISTORICAL AND CUTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE Minutes for'March 2,2015 The meeting was called to order at 6:04 pm. by Chairperson Pauline Grant. Those also present were Ann Petta,Masako Gifford,Shelly Rosenkild,Martina Boentaran,Susan Robles,Martha Monteon,Carol Jacobs, Interim City Manager and City Clerk Pat Jacquez Nares. Frances Carter was absent. SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes of February 2,2015 were read and approved with one correction,on a motion by Ann and seconded by Masako. TREASURER'S REPORT: Correction: Petty cash$218.98 and Masako's expense$7.50 for cleaning of table cloths. The budget shows a total balance of$606.96 and a petty cash of$218.98. HISTORICAL REPORT: Pat presented a wooden box with rubber stamps used in the past by the City of Grand Terrace to I number the agenda by hand. Since the numbering of the agenda now is done electronically,therefore,the collection of rubber stamps will be kept as part of the historical archives. Ann commented that the Grand Terrace High School has been doing a good job of updating their display in the City Hall lobby glass case and that it would be good for the community to have the Grand Terrace° High School participation in someway in the historical and cultural events. OLD BUSINESS: Art Show on Sunday May 3,2015 Set-up Saturday May'2,2015 The poster and application are ready,Pauline will see if there are any updates. We need fifty applications and fifty posters to"be delivered across the city,two weeks before the Art Show. Shelly talked to one of the Grand Terrace High School teachers and the students may have five or six art entries. Ann is aiming for thirty to thirty five artist entries. Susan will be in charge of local newspapers advertisement and will send the information to Pat for publication on the web sites. Carol, the City Manager will be in charge of cable advertisement and updating the flashing sign after Shelly submits her application. We need to reserve the room for the May 3,2015 Art Show. Shelly will reserve the Bill Board on Mt.Vernon by submitting an application to the city. The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 pm�. Respectfully submitted, Mart a Monteon,Secretary
