11-04-2019 HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
Minutes for the Month of November 4,2019
The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Vice-Chairperson, Ann Petta. Those present
were Frances Carter, Shelly Rosenkild, Shirley Hogue, Martina Boentaran, Martha Monteon and
City Clerk, Debra Thomas. Pauline Grant was absent.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes for October 7, 2019,were read and approved, on a motion
by Shelly and seconded by Shirley;all in favor/MP.
TREASURER'S REPORT: The City account has a balance of$500.00 and a Committee petty cash
balace of$2,425.33.
HISTORICAL REPORT: The Boy Scouts,Troop 40,will continue updating the display glass case, in
the City Hall lobby until the end of this month.
The Terrace Hills Girl Scouts will be the group to be honored this year at the City's Annual
Potluck Dinner and they will present the Program.
OLD BUSINESS: 38th Country Fair Saturday, November 2,2019 9 am- 3 pm
Location: Grand Terrace Civic Center/Community Meeting Room
The Master of Ceremonies for the Country Fair-Awards Program was City Manager, Mr. Harold
Duffey; Councilman, Doug Wilson and Councilman, Jeff Allen presented the awards. Bobbie
Forbes helped us at the table with the opportunity raffle tickets. The City provided live music
for the event.
Ann noted that we had 30 vendors to begin with but we ended up with 26 vendors. Ann
received a donation of premium gala apples from Loma Linda Market and three bags of apples
from Clark's Health Food Store.
Shirley reported that income from food sales was $357.00 and from the opportunity drawing
raffle table was$329.00.
A motion was made by Frances to pay the committe members for the Country Fair expenses and
was seconded by Ann;all in favor/MP.
Shirley's reimbursement to Frances was $99.37 for ice, water, hot dogs, hot dog buns and
condiment expenses- To Shelly$78.18 for balloons, posters and gifts for the baskets - To
Martina$120.41 for rental of a hot dogs warmer, posters and gifts for the baskets - To Martha

$15.47 for water and tortilla chips.
NEW BUSINESS: The 41st City's Birthday Potluck-Dinner Monday, December 9,2019 at 6 P.M
The City will provide a birthday cake and coffee for the special occasion.
City Clerk, Debra Thomas, gave a written notice to each member of the Committee notifying us
that Chairperson, Pauline Grant will no longer be able to serve on the Historical and Cultural
Activities Committee and the Committee will need to appoint a new Chairperson to serve in that
capacity through June 30,2020.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
