Minutes for November 5,2018
The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. by Chairperson, Pauline Grant. Those present were
Ann.Petta, Frances Carter, Martina Boentaran, Shirley Hogue, Martha Monteon and City Clerk,
Debra Thomas. Shelly Rosenkild was absent.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes for October 1, 2018, were read and approved on a motion
by Ann and seconded by Frances;all in favor/MP.
TREASURER'S REPORT: The Budget shows a balance of$500.00 and a petty cash of$1,307.16,
which includes$500.00 cash advance allowance received from the City of Grand Terrace.
HISTORICAL REPORT: The Terrace Hills Middle School has been updating the display case in the
City Hall lobby and will continue until the end of this month.
The Boy Scouts Group 40,will be the group to be honored this year at the City's Annual Potluck
Dinner.
OLD BUSINES: 37th Annual Country Fair Saturday,November 3,2018
Ann mentioned that we had 26 vendors and a few people had to share a canopy to be protected
from the sun.
The Master of Ceremonies for the Awards Program was City Mayor, Darcy McNaboe; Pauline and
Mr. Doug Wilson presented the awards. Bobbie Forbes helped us with the opportunity drawing
raffle tickets.
Sandy Anderegg,Adele Lara, Don and Alice Hallwachs, helped Frances with the food and baking
contests. Members of the Woman's Club volunteered to sell hot dogs and chili-dogs. Shirley
donated doughnuts and her daughter Terry Ellison volunteered at the food sale counter.
Ann received a donation of cornice pears by Loma Linda Market and apples donated by Clark's
Health Food Store. Ann donated baskets to make arrangements for the opportunity raffle. The
beautiful fruit baskets, which included a couple of certificates donated by businesses, were
arranged by Ann, Martina and Martha.
Martina was very helpful, making creative signs to promote the event and stepping where
necessary.
Shelly's expense for blue dots was$17.22 and$4.29 for blue award ribbons.
Food sale income$423.55 and opportunity drawing raffle$137.00. Total Income$560.55.
The addition of live music was a great idea for the Country Fair and perhaps we can have it for
next year.
Thanks to Mr. Harold Duffey who honored as with his presense and for his delicious contribution
of cakes in a jar.
NEW BUSINESS: 40th City's Birthday Potluck-dinner -Wednesday, Dec. 12,2018 at 6 P.M.
Debra will be unable to attend the Potluck-dinner, but Allen French and Zoila Luna will help us.
The City will provide birthday cake and coffee for this special occasion.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
