05-07-2018 HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
Minutes for May 7,2018,
The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. by Chairperson Pauline Grant. Those present were
Ann Petta, Frances Carter, Masako Gifford, Shelly Rosenkild, Martina Boentaran, Martha
Monteon and City Clerk, Debra Thomas.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes for April 9, 2018 were read and approved on a motion by
Frances and seconded by Ann;all in favor.
TREASURER'S REPORT: The budget shows a balance of$168.71 and a petty cash of$868.57.
HISTORICAL REPORT: The Terrace Hills Middle School has been updating and keeping up the
display glass case in the lobby of City Hall.
OLD BUSINESS: 34th Annual Art Show-Sunday, May 6,2018
Reimbursement from Masako to Frances was $31.43 for punch, water and ice expense, to
Martina$8.56 for cards purchased;Shelly's expense for balloons was$21.53.
Ann reported that she had a list of 40 Artists and actually 33 Artists who exhibited their art work
and approximately, one hundred and fifty visitors who came to enjoy the exhibits, delicious
appetizers and refreshments and of course,music to the delight of all.
The background classical music (duet by Sarah Wallin Huff, violinist and accompaning guitarist
Briant Bunker),was an excellent addition tho the Art Show this year. We are very pleased with
the many positive compliments received. Thanks to the City of Grand Terrace for making it
possible.
City Mayor, Darcy McNaboe and City Manager, Harold Duffey and other members of the City
Council honored us with their presence at this event.
