04-01-2019 HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
Minutes for the Month of April 1,2019
The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Vice-Chairperson, Ann Petta. Those present
were Shelly Rosenkild,Shirley Hogue, Martina Boentaran, Martha Monteon and City Clerk, Debra
Thomas. Pauline Grant and Frances Carter were absent.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes for March 4, 2019,were read and approved,on a motion by
Shelly and seconded by Shirley;all in favor/MP.
TREASURER'S REPORT: The City account budget shows a balance of$500.00 and Committee
petty cash$1,297.76.
HISTORICAL REPORT: The Boy Scouts,Troop 40, has been updating the display glass case, in the
City Hall lobby.
Ann noted, that we have about ten artists interested to participate in the Art Show and she will
continue making phone calls.
Shelly will purchase poster frames for placing above the glass display case.
NEW BUSINESS: 35th Annual Art Show Sunday, May 5,2019 1 p.m.to 4 p.m.
at Grand Terrace Civic Center/Community Meeting Room
Set-up on Saturday, May 4,2019 -Committee arrival at 12 p.m till 3 p.m.approximately
returning at 7 p.m.to 9 p.m.approximately
Sunday, May 5,2019 -Committee arrival around 11:30 a.m.till closing time.
Debra printed the Art Show applications and they are available at City Hall and copies are also
available at the Library.
The flyers are ready and Debra handed 40 printed copies to Martha for distribution around the
city and businesses. Shirley and Martha will distribute the flyers two weeks before the event.
Ann will ask Mr.Jim Gifford to help our Committee by picking up the key from City Hall to open
the building on both days,Saturday and Sunday.
A motion was made by Ann,to approve the purchase of balloons by Shelly; unanimous approval,
with all in favor/MP. Shelly,received a$20.00 cash advance from Shirley.
Frances will bring ice,water,punch, ice chest and folding table.
The members of the Committee will provide snacks,finger food and beverages for the event.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
